As a second portion of a class conducted on the fall 2012, this seminar will serve as a prototyping and fabrication platform for ?League of Shadows?, P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S winning entry for the new SCI-Arc Graduation Pavilion, which is to be constructed during the spring 2013.

While the project requires various complex tasks, students will be mostly involved in the fabrication and actual assembly of layered fabric panels. One of the essential material components of the project, these pieces aim to create nuance textile effects using various interlacing fabrics and sewing mechanisms.

By being in the class, students will experience first hand the process of building a complex project, wherein conceptual, esthetic, material, tectonic and structural issues have to be weighed in relation to constructability, functionality, performance over time, economy of means and budget constrains.
