The digital era serves to expand the replication and distribution of information but also highlights the fragility of knowledge and memory. In this seminar students will be encouraged to conceptualize the limitations as well creative opportunities arising from a world described and understood through data representations aimed to feed machine logics and arti? cial intelligence rather than human intellect, data = memory ?
In the seminar students will develop a series of prototypes that respond to the speci? c conditions of a selected site.
Student will be introduced to a variety of digital fabrication techniques as well strategies to augment them beyond their physical nature. The class is participatory in nature and organized in short design and learning charrettes. Student will be working in groups, each developing their unique project in conversation with the instructor. By the end of the semester each group is expected to have a
