Description

From Simulation to Prototype
Instructor: Curime Batliner

Video Description: https://vimeo.com/582835617
Short Description: In this seminar, students explore the link between simulation processes and their physical implementation through prototyping. Using a variety of additive and subtractive fabrication techniques, students will work on small prototypes that are characterized by processes that produce a continuous variation of geometry and resolution, are both adaptive to specific design and functional requirements, as well engage with constraints dictated by available materials and technologies.

Students attending this course will use Rhino/Grasshopper for their digital assignments and gain a solid understanding of its working and potential. The course will cover an introduction to Grasshopper, as well more advanced approaches to form finding and optimization. Guided by tutorials and demonstrations, each student will develop a set of instructions and representations, using t
