Description

Architectural practice has been expanding into a variety of different fields; Architectural graduates are no longer tied to career paths working exclusively in architecture offices or personal architectural practices. Instead, they are increasingly involved in all aspects of design including industrial design, film, and advanced digital manufacturing. This seminar aims to expand the architectural playground even further by exploring design approaches and techniques of robotic fabrication in combination with renewable energy and sustainable design practices.

This course will investigate methods of 3d clay printing a ceramic façade using the robot in the robot tent and incorporating an imbedded algae farm. Many dense urban environments across the US face a range of environmental issues, in particular air pollution. Automotive, cargo ship, rail, and industrial exhaust all reduce air quality across our metropolitan centers. Often with a CO2 emission more than double the allowable thres
