Special Topics in Solar Decathlon 2013 Seminar

This seminar is required for all students enrolled in the Fall 2012 Vertical Design Studio ?Solar Decathlon 2013?. The seminar parallels the development of the Solar Decathlon 2013 project and involves two primary topics; Design Development / Construction Documents and Communication / Outreach. The first topic will include the use of Building Information Modeling, developing a set of comprehensive DD and CD documents, project manual and project health and safety plan per the competition guidelines. The second topic involves project fundraising, web development, promotion, outreach strategies, and marketing. Given the diverse topics this seminar addresses, students are allowed to petition for credit for certain core classes in the curriculum, depending on the students focus in the seminar, which will be discussed and agreed upon with the instructors.
