Description

This seminar will explore concepts, theories, and representational techniques associated with the history of formalism, abstraction, and estrangement in order to posit an aesthetic urban theory. Students will be asked to analyze the Moscow Kremlin as pure form by drawing it as a monumental object. Exercises will focus on precision and the estrangement from the real through modes of representation that lower resolution and isolate regulatory geometries.
