Course Abstract:
Clay is an ancient material, it is versatile with profound plasticity, it merges past and future, and it travels though culture, in a myriad of territories.
This class will create clay models that are weaved together with various mediums, from threads, to glass and paint. We will create small sample models and 3d scan them as well as digitalize them with modeling techniques. The final project will be the design of a unique clay object that can transcend the analog/digital dialectic.
Course Description:
This class will focus ideas of color becoming material. We will begin with an abstract exercise of a feedback between analog clay samples and digital forms. The aim of the class is to create a landscape, where 2d surfaces engage the 3d clay objects.
