Description
The film set is a space that sits somewhere between reality and fiction; between the realistic and the stylistic; between documentation and imagination. The lights and the camera allow us to occupy a curated cinematic space that only exists from a particular viewpoint.
In this course we will learn principles of cinematography and apply them to architectural models. The aim of this VS is to equip you with techniques that can be used directly for your portfolios, raising the quality of your visuals and helping you develop a more cinematic aesthetic.
Our meetings will be hands-on sessions on a film set, where we will learn these techniques practically, working not with abstract examples, but using our sessions to actively develop your films. We will take the best models from the SCI-Arc Spring Show and use them as our subjects, to learn how to work with lights, cameras, lenses, and rigs; using cranes, dollies, and other equipment at our disposal.
