Description
A series of case studies will be the medium for learning more about the creative potential of integrating two creative disciplines, architecture and trans-media design, into one practice. April Greiman assisted by Michael Rotondi, will describe and explain, via lectures and design exercises, what the basis is for making decisions in this expanded collaborative process.
Defining the problem, integrating sensibilities and coordinating approaches, will be the basis for describing and explaining a unique process of design, and how it can be 'mined' by using architecture as the 'site' for developing graphic language and color in space, per the projects of April Greiman/Made in Space studio. The course will include basic explorations of time based design principles, typography and graphical elements, sighting and scaling information to create visual and spatial hierarchies, and the development of color palettes in relation to site, context and building.
