Description
Visual Studies I is the first of three core VS seminars in the B. Arch program. The course introduces students to working with a varied set of tactile materials, as well as to follow and update recipes for fabrication. The descriptive conventions of plan, section, and pattern will be implemented through a series of exercises and in coordination with the concurrent 1B design studio curriculum. Workshops, tutorials, field trips, and discussions will address topics surrounding craft, pattern, shape, texture, cladding, and color, and provide an introduction to the technical production of art and architecture works in the present day.
