Description

Visual Studies IV is intended to provide students within the B.Arch program, and SCI-Arc as a whole, a regular offering of advanced, speculative Visual Studies courses that are architect and architecture driven. Like the similar 2GB Visual Studies course taught every spring, this course primarily serves the students taking it as a requirement, while also making seats available to advanced students who may take it as an elective. Rather than have a specific curriculum, this course offers four topically different sections taught by four different instructors. In this way the school emphasizes its longstanding commitment to architectural speculation via drawing and other generative tools, and prepares them for the ?vertical studio? lottery process the following semester. These sections are led by faculty, and on occasion by special visitors.
