Description

This The seminar is structured around four key themes – Theory, Body, Construction, and Communication re-contextualized within contemporary discourse. Case studies will be drawn from various industries, including Architecture, Art Practices, Fashion, Industrial Design, and Communications
Each theme will consist of 2-3 sessions focusing on prompts, research, and discussion. Theory addresses the need for a new philosophical grounding and its formal consequences with writings from non-correlationist thinker François Laruelle and philosopher Gilbert Simondon. Body shifts the discourse towards embodied/disembodied experience, examining the upcycled fashion collections of Hodakova as well as sculpture and performance artists Jordan Wolfson, Anna Uddenberg, and Bruce Nauman. Construction questions the separation between architecture and construction by exploring alternative platforms and practices for post-extraction materials, cooperative and in-situ robotics, and emerging Japanese architec
