CS2013 | Humanities 1: Antiquity to the Middle Ages
This introductory survey course addresses ancient cultural production with a framework that extends beyond a normative Western trajectory with an inter?est in tracing parallel histories in disparate geographical and cultural locales. The course addresses art,archi- tecture, music and literature in ancient Greece, Rome, Africa, Egypt, Asia, Europe and beyond. The task of this course is to survey historical cultures as well as to reframe his- torical conditions of culture through the lens of contemporary discourse.
