The seminar will unfold a series of lectures whereby in each lecture a specific figural city will be discussed and read closely. The seminar provides the framework of a thesis that considers the city as an object. What is unique to cities that constitute a figure is that they can be seems a unified object, a continuous mass of architectural elements either within existing cities or detached from them.
The Seminar will be twofold: while on the one hand each seminar will be debated a figural city, the second part of the seminar will ask each student to research one figural city and design one within a block of LA.
