Description
This course analyzes major concepts and visual regimes of contemporary technical art and image-making culture, particularly since the Ecological Turn. These concepts include Emergence, Creativity, Artificiality, Simulation, Intelligence, and others. Each of these concepts offers a map of the present but in terms borrowed from other disciplines from earlier periods of history, creating a condition of Concept Drift where old ideas break down and offer space for new ones to emerge.
