DESCRIPTION
Cinema has always carved and molded space as it sees fit. Kubrick's "The Shining" meticulously re-created the Overlook Hotel thousands of miles away in a British film studio, and Luc Besson's "Leon" seamlessly cut interiors filmed in Paris with exteriors filmed in New York to create a hybrid city. Today, these ideas of physicality and geography are distorted further still, with the ability to create these worlds digitally. In this seminar we will take film scenes and settings from the pre-digital era, and re-imagine those scenes in CGI. We will learn photorealistic 3D rendering, using VFX-industry workflows.
