Description
AdaptIT
Development of Adaptable Systems
MarkDavid Hosale
This seminar is an advanced level course engaging problems and methods of system design. Drawing from specialized topics that lay at the intersection between architecture and dynamic systems, the course is designed to engage an advanced inquiry into the field of digital media, as it relates to the development of the actual and virtual in architecture. To this end the course will focus on the development of adaptive systems as a means for the development of interactive installations and virtual environments. Adaptive systems build on complex relations and incorporate a variety of research topics, among which include:
Genetic Algorithms (GA)/Evolutionary Algorithms (EA)
Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Expert Systems (ES), and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches
Swarm intelligence (SI)
Artificial life (AL)
Memetics/ Diffusion of innovations
Adaptive systems describe a family of topics that lie in the int
