Description
Visual Studies II forms the continuation of VS I, expanding on the development of representational tools and material production. Emphasizing geometric modeling and incorporating scripting and physical model making, the course addresses contemporary formal problems in the discipline of architecture through a series of technical assignments. Exercises will focus on developing precision in the production of architectural work, instilling a critical sensitivity to the inherent proclivities and biases of each medium of architectural representation. The course balances multiple learning formats, including lectures, tutorials, in-class workshops, pin-ups, and reading discussions. In parallel, students will continue developing a personal portfolio of work from the first year and submit a Gateway Portfolio at the end of the semester.
