B.Arch. Transfer Workshop
The B.Arch. Transfer Workshop is an intensive 3 week course that introduces incoming transfer students to
contemporary ideas and techniques related to architectural production and representation. The focus will be on descriptive and transformative modes of representation using digital tools. How architects see and imagine the world is largely dependent on how we describe it through visual means. In turn, visual description necessarily involves translation within some mode of representation. Inevitably some things get lost in translation. But we exchange this loss for a gain through projection. In order for architects to achieve this in a sophisticated manner, we need to employ a rigorous set of techniques as well as an active, yet disciplined, imagination.
