All Design Immersion Days (DID) applicants must submit the following materials:

  • DID Online Application Form
  • $25 non-refundable Application Fee (paid online or submitted by mail with a check or money order made out to "SCI-Arc")

Computer Requirements

The program will be hosted online through Zoom. Please see below for specific computer hardware and software requirements. Additional software costs may apply. Hardware loans will be available at no charge for students on a need basis. 


  • Laptop or Desktop (PC or Mac)
    • Computer must have a minimum of 8 GB of RAM and a minimum of 600 MB of disk space. Please note that Mac Book Air is not recommended.
  • Stable internet
  • Camera and Microphone
    • This is standard on any laptop, but for those with desktops, it is important to have a webcam or equivalent. 
  • Digital camera/Smartphone
    • Students need a way to take digital photographs, either with a smartphone or a standalone digital camera.


  • Students must load the following programs to their home computer.
    • Adobe Creative Cloud - Licenses will be provided to participants by SCI-Arc
    • Rhinoceros 6 - Free
    • Unity - Free

Hardware Loan Program

  • A limited number of laptops with all required programs are available for students to borrow on a need basis.
  • A limited number of webcams are available for students to borrow on a need basis.

Scholarship support is available for students whose family income qualifies them to receive financial aid. To apply for a scholarship, applicants must submit all required registration and scholarship materials no later than June 1, 2021. Students awarded a scholarship will be exempt from submitting the $350 registration deposit. 

All students applying for a need-based DID scholarship must submit the following materials through SlideRoom:

  • Personal Statement
  • A letter stating financial need
  • Copy of High School Transcript showing GPA

Personal Statement

The Design Immersion Days personal statement prompt is found in SlideRoom and the response must be submitted through SlideRoom. The personal statement is an opportunity for the admissions committee to gain insight into the registrant's interests, motivations, and goals.

Registrants are required to provide a copy of their high school transcript showing their most recent grades. Unofficial high school transcripts must be submitted through SlideRoom.
